Pain Relief Salve

The warmth of the Cayenne and the soothing herbs make the perfect combination for aches and pains. This herbal fusion not only relieves pain, but helps reduce inflammation. Arnica- is an herb used to treat aches, pains, and bruises. Arnica contains anti-inflammatory compounds. For centuries this flower has been used to relieve muscle, joint pain, and heal bruising.

Comfrey

Research studies have demonstrated the benefits of comfrey as a wound healer. Used as a topical treatment for cuts, scrapes, pain, inflammation, swelling of muscles and joints in degenerative arthritis, acute myalgia in the back, sprains, contusions and strains.

Calendula

Calendula is one of the most amazing remedies for the skin! Treats cuts, red inflamed skin, minor burns, sunburn, acne, rashes, fungal conditions, ringworm, athlete's foot, thrush, diaper rash, cradle cap, eczema, and breast feeding related irritation. Yarrow-is a natural antiseptic. This herb has been used since ancient times to treat wounds, and cuts, or to help alleviate bleeding. The topical application of yarrow is highly effective on wounds to prevent infection.

Cayenne Pepper

Contains a compound called capsaicin which gives them their heat. When applied topically, capsaicin can help alleviate pain by reducing the amount of a neuropeptide (substance P) that travels to the brain to signal pain. Reduction or removal of this chemical stops pain signals from reaching the brain and relieves pain.

The Art of Salve Making

Instructions: Set up a double broiler method by taking a small pot filled halfway with water. Set the heat on low. Place a small bowl that fits on top (very important the bowl does not float on the water. Avoid water getting into your salve). Add your beeswax into the bowl above the pot. Let the beeswax melt before adding the infused oil. Stir as needed. When everything has melted, take off heat, and add any essential oils you desire. Stir oils well. Transfer the liquid from the bowl into a glass measuring cup then pour into metal tin. Let it completely cool before use, and enjoy!
